Coye, Padrick Join Transylvania Community Hospital Board

BREVARD, N.C., Sept. 17, 2007—Transylvania Community Hospital is pleased to announce the appointments of Linda Coye and R. Bryan Padrick to the Hospital’s Board of Trustees.

Coye is the chief financial officer with Coye Consultants Inc., a major landscape contractor equipment distributor and consulting agency based in Brevard. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard University.

Coye developed a commonsense approach to working with small businesses at an early age as she grew up around her family’s entrepreneurial ventures. She moved to Brevard in 1989 after college to join her family’s business. Besides her many years with Coy Consultants, she also worked as a business strategy consultant specializing in launching high-tech companies. In this role, Coye led project teams in the development of business plans and financial models to secure investor financing for these new ventures. She currently serves on the board of the IMPACT Coalition and the board of Communities In Schools of Transylvania County.

Padrick served as president and CEO of WCI Inc., a management services and consulting organization based in Asheville, prior to retirement. He has also held management and executive positions with General Electric Co., Rubbermaid Corp. and Olin Corp. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, the Executive Program at UNC at Chapel Hill and the Human Resource Executive Program at Penn State University.

Padrick and his wife, Betty, have lived in Brevard for 31 years. He has served on numerous state, local and regional boards and continues to be an active member of First United Methodist Church in Brevard.

“We are delighted with the new additions to the board,” said Dr. Dana Christianson, chairman of Transylvania Community Hospital’s Board of Trustees. “Linda and Bryan both have extensive experience in business management and strategic planning that will help us to explore innovative ways to continue to provide quality healthcare for the community.”

Coye and Padrick will serve five-year terms on the board. In other action, board members Dick Millar and Al LeFaivre were each reappointed to a new term on the board.
