Looking Glass Eye Center Adds New Doctor
BREVARD, N.C., Aug. 31, 2007—Looking Glass Eye Center of Excellence is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Katherine Volatile as an ophthalmologist in its booming practice.
A board certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Volatile most recently served as an ophthalmologist for Asheville Eye Associates, where she saw patients in South Asheville for the past five years.
Dr. Volatile received her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Ga., where she completed an internship in internal medicine. Dr. Volatile completed her residency in ophthalmology at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Baltimore, Md., studying at the Retinal Vascular Center at the Wilmer Eye Institute at John Hopkins Hospital.
“Katherine is a wonderful addition to our growing practice,” said Dr. Dana Christianson, who co founded Looking Glass Eye Center in 1988 with Dr. Craig Secosan. “She brings excellent medical training and a solid background in serving patients in Western North Carolina.”
A former Georgia state champion swimmer, Dr. Volatile continues to compete with the Masters Swim Association of Asheville. She shares her interest in swimming and other outdoor sports with her three children. She also serves on several regional boards and is actively involved with her children’s schools and church.
Dr. Volatile is the fifth doctor to join the growing practice at Looking Glass Eye Center of Excellence, which operates offices in Brevard, Hendersonville and Cashiers. She will see patients in both the practice’s Brevard and Hendersonville offices. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 884-7320 or 693-4161.
