Transylvania Community Hospital to Host Drive-Through Flu Shot Clinic
BREVARD, N.C., Sept. 18, 2007—Roll up your sleeves and get ready to drive on through! Transylvania Community Hospital is once again teaming with Anchor Baptist Church in Pisgah Forest to provide a convenient drive-through flu shot clinic on Thursday, Oct. 4, from 8 a.m. until noon.
Flu season is fast approaching—beginning in late October or early November—and flu shots can help prevent you from getting the flu or spreading it to others. Transylvania Community Hospital has several thousand doses of flu vaccine on hand to handle the expected demand for this year’s flu season.
The Transylvania Community Hospital drive-through flu shot clinic will be offered to adults ages 18 and up. The cost is $25 per person, or free to Medicare Part B recipients—remember to bring your Medicare card with you to get a free immunization.
Please enter Anchor Baptist Church in the parking lot located on U.S. Highway 64. You will be directed through the line and will exit on Old Hendersonville Highway. Be sure to wear a loose-fitting shirt, so your sleeve may be rolled up with ease, and have your sleeve rolled up as you enter the drive-through line.
“Our goal is to keep things moving smoothly and efficiently,” said Linda Fluck, director of Transylvania Community Hospital Home Care. “We have a covered area to give the shots in case of rain. The real beauty of this clinic is you don’t even have to get out of your car.”
Staff and members of Anchor Baptist will again help with the clinic. “This drive-through event wouldn’t be possible without the efforts of Pastor Randy Barton and his staff,” Fluck said.
Last year’s drive-through flu clinic served 800 people, Fluck said. The goal this year is to give out 1,000 doses. For more information, call TCH Home Care at 883-5254.
