Transylvania Community Hospital to Host Walk-In Flu Shot Clinic
BREVARD, N.C., Nov. 5, 2007—Get them while they last. Transylvania Community Hospital is holding a walk-in flu shot clinic on Friday, Nov. 9, from 7:30 a.m. until noon at the TCH Home Care office on Asheville Highway, next to GO Grocery, in Brevard.
With cases of the flu already being reported in western North Carolina, now is the time to get vaccinated. Flu shots can help prevent you from getting the flu or spreading it to others.
The Transylvania Community Hospital walk-in flu shot clinic will be offered to adults ages 18 and up. The cost is $25 per person, or free to Medicare Part B recipients—remember to bring your Medicare card with you to get a free immunization.
Transylvania Community Hospital has several hundred doses of flu vaccine remaining to handle the expected demand for this year’s flu season.
“Our goal is to get as many people vaccinated as possible,” said Linda Fluck, director of Transylvania Community Hospital Home Care. “We served nearly 900 people at our drive-through clinic in October and several hundred more people at a separate clinic held at Connestee Falls.”
