Connestee Falls Café to Celebrate Grand Opening
BREVARD, N.C., Sept. 21, 2007—Bring your appetite—Transylvania Community Hospital is hosting the formal grand opening of its Connestee Falls Café on Sunday, Oct. 7.
The event, to be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., will feature a brunch menu including an omelet station, a full breakfast bar, a fresh salad bar, a deli sandwich bar and various grilled luncheon items complete with all the fixings. The brunch will cost $8 per person, which includes beverage.
“We are so excited to showcase to the public our newly remodeled café and kitchen,” said Will Ecker, Director of Food Services at Transylvania Community Hospital. “This is an excellent opportunity for residents in our community to see this beautiful, new facility and eat some great food at a good price.”
Residents of Connestee Falls in Brevard embraced the concept of helping Transylvania Community Hospital become “More Than You Imagined” by pledging $500,000 to build the new dining services facility and kitchen at the hospital. The new dining room began operating in May, but construction in the kitchen has just recently been completed.
Besides serving patients and visitors to the hospital, the new kitchen is also used to prepare about 350 meals daily for Meals on Wheels and other community meal service programs in Transylvania County. The dietary staff has recently begun catering select community events including weddings and business functions.
“This new facility has given us the opportunity to serve the needs of the community in many ways,” Ecker said. “I think people will be really impressed with the Connestee Falls Café—it is truly a restaurant with excellent food and a great atmosphere.”
