Brevard Family Practice Adds New Doctor

BREVARD, N.C., Oct. 5, 2007—Transylvania Community Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Rachel Brown, D.O., as a member of the hospital’s medical staff.

A board eligible family practice physician, Dr. Brown began working for Brevard Family Practice on the hospital campus in mid August.

Dr. Brown graduated from Nova Southeastern University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. She completed her residency at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Mich. She received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Miami.

“I am very excited to be working with patients at Brevard Family Practice,” Dr. Brown said. “We all work together in this practice to make sure patients come first.”

Dr. Brown was born in California, where she lived until her family moved to South Florida when she was 10. She and her husband, Toby, now live in Brevard. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Brown enjoys gardening, movies, hiking and kayaking.

She is the fifth doctor to join the growing practice at Brevard Family Practice. She is accepting new patients and is currently seeing patients each weekday except Tuesday. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 884-9362.
