State Approves Transylvania Dialysis Facility
Nearly 30 Transylvania County residents will soon no longer have to travel as much as nine hours per week to receive lifesaving kidney treatment. The N.C. Division of Health Services Regulation this week approved a certificate of need for the construction of a stage-four dialysis facility on the campus of Transylvania Community Hospital in Brevard.
Mountain View Medical Center Adds Permanent Doctor
Residents of eastern Transylvania and western Henderson counties will have more access to primary healthcare thanks to the addition of a permanent physician at the Mountain View Medical Center in Penrose. Transylvania Community Hospital is pleased to welcome William Nagel, M.D., as a full-time physician at the medical office located on Old Hendersonville Highway next to the Penrose post office.
Transylvania Hospital’s New Inpatient Wing Wows Patients, Families
Transylvania Community Hospital opened its new inpatient wing Monday—receiving rave reviews from patients and their families. “’Wow’ is the best way I can describe the size and condition of the new rooms,” said Frank Murray, a retired physician’s assistant who was moved into one of the wing’s new medical/surgical rooms.
Transylvania Community Hospital Celebrates 75 Years
Transylvania Community Hospital will be hosting a community-wide open house to mark the hospital’s 75th anniversary and the completion of its new inpatient wing on Sunday, May 4 from 2 to 4 p.m. The free event will include music, cake, refreshments, giveaways, historic displays and tours of the new wing.
